Government Contracts:The government procurement and contracting process can be complicated, Byzantine, and technical. For this reason, the law governing the process is among one of the most specialized and nuanced areas of practice for attorneys. Regardless of whether it is a local, state, or federal governmental entity, each operates under its own set of rules, regulations and procedures. They usually adhere to their regulations absolutely. The slightest deviation may be grounds for rejecting an otherwise compliant response to a procurement solicitation. To attain success therefore requires significant hands-on experience, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
The objective of the Robbins Administrative Law and Government Relations Practice Group is to maximize the chances of success for our clients. Our critical services include, among other things, review of typical government contract documents, procurement solicitations, and RFPs. Armed with information provided by our clients, we can draft proposals, compliant bids, and other documentation. We can also prepare and negotiate agreements, including teaming agreements, international contracts, and joint ventures, when necessary.
On the compliance side, we will help ensure that our clients' corporate practices and procedures comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS), as well as federal, state and local statutes. When called upon, we can fulfill the duties of ethics and compliance officers.
Of equal importance in some situations, we can provide sound and valuable business guidance. Our lawyers have the experience to go well beyond the legal formalities required of us and can provide you with insight, direction, and sometimes even windows to access larger markets. We also regularly assist with negotiations, sourcing, finance, intellectual property licensing, disputes, and much more.
